Description
Susanna's mother, Athena, was the most beautiful debutante in English society, renowned for her free spirit and volatile nature. So no one was surprised when, just two years after her marriage to the son of wealthy Suffolk landowners, she abandoned him, and died shortly afterwards. Raised by her father and his second wife, Susanna grew up marked by the controversial legacy of her mother, whose name is rarely mentioned on the family estate.
Thirty-four years later, Susanna and her husband Neil return to her hometown to get back on their feet after finding themselves one step away from bankruptcy. She fulfilled her dream of owning her own boutique selling clothes, jewelry and other unique finds, which she put all her passion into. There she finds refuge from her unhappy marriage and makes the first real friendships of her life: with the vivacious young mother Jessie and the silent Argentinian Alejandro, who has come to the other side of the world to escape the ghosts that haunt him in his homeland.
The shop becomes everyone's favourite place, and Susanna starts to believe she deserves to be happy. But to make peace with her past and face her dream future, she'll have to confront her own family.
