Spanish teacher, drummer, investigative journalist - Simon Beckett drew on life experiences from all walks of life before wading into the deep waters of the crime thriller. His novels are based on notes taken during his police assignments - drug busts, brothel raids, shoot-outs and time spent at the famous Corpse Farm. Thus was born the idea for his unconventional hero, David Hunter.
