Description

Tall, elegant and with a swastika on the lapel, Oskar Schindler arrived in Krakow at the beginning of World War II. His goal is clear - to amass a fortune in this conquered city, using his charm and connections as an Abwehr agent, and the friendships made over a cuppa.

A hedonist by nature is also its commandant Amon Goeth. At first glance, the two have much in common, but the madness of war will turn them in opposite directions. Goeth will twist himself to his core as a Nazi executioner, while Oskar will turn his factory into a Noah's Ark for thousands of Jews and dedicate himself to their preservation.

The novel of Thomas Keneally „Schindler's List“ is like a mosaic: the story is about the Holocaust, but it is also about human nature, in which the adventurer and the humanist, the angel and the devil are in eternal struggle. And the meaning of it is encapsulated in a verse from the Talmud: „He who saves even one life saves the whole world.“.
