Once upon a time there was a graduate who hoped that his rich father would give him an expensive car for graduation. But instead he got... a Bible. Angry, he left home and never realized that hidden between the pages of the book was the key to his dream car.“

How often do we find ourselves admiring the packaging of what life presents us, or disappointed that it is not as shiny as we expected! And the truth is that there, behind the golden ribbon of love, luck and success, or behind the crumpled paper of resentment, failure and failure, is always a gift - that which we have always wanted, or that which we really need. We just have to have the courage to look inside the box.

„The Hidden Gift“ is a collection of 101 parables that Jeries Awad collected from near and far. He sincerely hopes that they will inspire you to seek and find the extraordinary in ordinary things, because as one of the stories says, „If your gift is not wrapped the way you expected, it's because it was wrapped so much better.“.

Some of the stories in the book are in the form of fables, others resemble classical Arab tales, and others have contemporary plots and characters. The real authors of these parables are unknown, and the roots of some of them go all the way back to Mesopotamia, East Asia and ancient Greece. But they are all similar in that they carry the essence of centuries of experience. The stories are profoundly human and tell of everyday situations - the insult of a friend, theft and forgiveness, conflicts between relatives, family relationships, success and the disappointment of failure. But there are also those set in, for example, Heaven and Hell, or in the imaginary land where human feelings live. These „unreal” stories are no less interesting because they make us think about the eternal struggle between good and evil, about the important things in our lives, about what we have but sometimes don't appreciate, and about the other things we don't have but might be better off without.
