How far do you have to run to avoid being overtaken by the past?

The idyllic family life of Gina is shattered to pieces in an instant: police find a girl hanged in the garage of her home. Her husband is convicted of serial murders, and a wave of accusations of complicity, hatred and death threats descend on her. Pursued and harassed, Gina and her children flee and repeatedly change their identities. But wherever they go, someone is always standing in the shadows, watching them.

Four years later, the three settled in a lakeside house in the countryside. The timid Gina is now an image from the past. Now she is the ruthless Gwen Procter, ready to do anything to protect her family. She believes they will finally find peace here. Until one day a girl's corpse emerges from the lake, and the torture marks bear the bloody handwriting of her ex-husband...
