Description
Fiction-documentary narrative.
Fate meets Miti Kovacheva, daughter of Gen. Stiliyan Kovachev, commander of the IV Bulgarian Army and for a short time Minister of War, and the young Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, then military attaché of Turkey in Bulgaria.
The turbulent political events of the early 20th century dramatically doomed the wonderful feeling that had blossomed between them. Mustafa Kemal had great things ahead of him, but he seemed to keep the image of the Balkan Rose and a love for Bulgaria in his heart for the rest of his life.
Lately, I have become more and more convinced that it is not always the author who chooses the theme and the characters of his work. Sometimes they come to him. An encounter, a memory suddenly surfacing in the memory, can give birth to an idea for a new book, can clear up an old theme that he has been carrying around for a long time without even suspecting it.
So it happened to me.
