Description

An elderly man drives along a remote road through the snowy Norwegian mountains. Suddenly, his headlights catch the figure of an animal and he barely gets control of the vehicle before he runs over it. After shaking off the initial shock, the man can't believe his eyes - standing in front of him is not an animal, but a frostbitten and scared to death little boy with antlers firmly attached to his head.

Fourteen years later, the body of a young woman dressed as a ballerina is discovered in a nearby mountain lake, a camera tripod on the shore pointing to the scene. Three more murders soon follow, and each time the perpetrator leaves a specific clue - an invitation to Inspector Holger Munch and his colleague Mia Kruger for a deadly game. But can it ever be won when the opponent lacks everything human? Munch and Krueger see themselves forced to delve deep into the shadows of their own pasts to find the psychopath...
