Description
In the mid-19th century, fate put a young British man on a passenger steamer on the waters of the Mississippi. His encounter with the beautiful Eugenie Besanson is destined. However, the steamer suffers a disaster and the lives of all the passengers are endangered.
Soon the young man wakes up in an unfamiliar room; a strange black man is looming over him, and a mysterious young Quaker woman is making sure his wounds heal faster. Which of the two beauties standing in his way actually truly captures his heart?
The slaveholding South at that time was cruel and uncompromising to anyone who carried even a drop of Negro blood. The young man and his lover face the law, defy accepted norms and risk their lives for the sake of their shared destiny.
Will Judge Lynch and the fierce chase succeed in frightening the lover, or will he fearlessly fight for his beloved's freedom with a slavish fate?
Love, passion, intrigue, deceit and cruelty entwine this timeless story of the beautiful Quaker Aurora and her poor but devoted lover.
