Description
Mila arrives in the coastal town of Moranese in Brittany to take care of her niece after her stepsister Sophie died in an accident in the ocean. He intends to send her to a boarding school in Switzerland in the autumn, and for her to return to her friend in Bristol and finish her debut novel. She temporarily takes Sophie's place in a small detective agency, but her new colleague turns out to be Carter Jackson: her sister's boyfriend, with whom Mila was once in love.
The tranquillity of a charming French town is shattered when a foreign woman Gosha was found dead. The eccentric old lady had been living alone in an old horse-drawn van. Her most precious possession - the notebook in which she wrote down her innermost thoughts - had disappeared without a trace, along with her mobile phone. The local police do not intend to investigate the case. But when the head of the nearby archaeological dig is also publicly humiliated and driven to suicide, Mila and Carter decide to take matters into their own hands. The key to unraveling the mystery, however, lies in a lost notebook.
