Description

If a dragon falls in love with a maiden, she is doomed. Its eyes drink up her strength, she begins to molt and soon dies - no matter whether she is a mere mortal or a queen.

In order to save herself from the love of the dragon Plamen, Vida, the mistress of Vidin, tricks him and embeds him in the foundations of her fortress to protect her beloved city forever. With his last breath, the young dragon curses her and her sisters never to find peace.

These days...

The thousand years that have passed have turned Vida into a legend, but the curse still holds her fast to this day. The fortress, protected by Plamen, still watches over the city. Only on the night marking the expiration of a thousand years does the dragon have a chance to break free if another takes its place...

A real storm is brewing, where dragons, lamas and samodivas are plotting and scheming, betrayal is hidden in every smile, and the lives of mortals and the fate of a city as ancient as the Danube are at stake...

Simona Panova makes its stunning debut with a story that intertwines legends and lore with the scent of lindens and magic.
