Poland, 1942.

Sadie Gault lived with his parents in Krakow during World War II. When the Nazis „cleared“ the ghetto streets, Sadie and her pregnant mother managed to escape into the city's underground tunnels. Ella Stepanek came from a wealthy family and lived in relative peace because her stepmother was on good terms with the German occupiers. One day she notices movement through the grating of the street shaft next to the market.
